We are back to backcountry Camping in the natural campsite at 1,257 meters above sea level. We are going to camp near the peak of Kampang Trail, then a walk to sunrise and sunset at the peak. During the hike, we will find the evidence of the city wall, along with ancient appliances and weapons.
- This hike is backcountry hiking, we carry our own camping gear. There’s no facilities, electricity and tap water supply, phone and internet reception is limited to none.
- Level of difficulty = Difficult if you have no or little backcountry hiking experience.
- Intermediate level for experienced backcountry
- 6-7 hours hiking elevation, the trail are mostly steep

Day 1: Friday 13th Nov
20.00: Van Leaves from Gas Station near Wutthakat BTS Station. The journey to the national park takes around 3-4 hours drive.
24.00: Enter the campsite, setup our tent and campsite & Rest
Day 2: Saturday 14th Nov
07.00-07.30: Coffee & breakfast Time (complimentary 1/4) Then get ready for the hike. We will have to carry our own camping gears include, a tent & sleeping bag at minimal. Total weight is 4kg additional to your bag & personal belongings . (Additional camping stuff is a mattress around 0.75 kg)
- The equipment that we should take along with us and get it ready to use are a rain jacket, drinking water, medication, energy drink, snack, lunch etc.
- Porter service is 1,600 thb (round trip the maximum weight for porter is 15kg)
- You need to be able to carry your own equipment (or hire the porter) to join the trip
8.00: Start Hiking (pack sandwich and dry food for lunch) (complimentary 2/4)
- The first 2km are flat trail to warm up, then the trekking up to the peak. Total distance is around 9 km, take around 6-7 hours to reach the peak.
- The highest point of this trail is 1,257 meters above sea level, our campsite is backcountry, with no facilities. We need to hike as a group, we will have 1-2 rangers depending on the group size.
15.00: Reach the campsite. We will setup the campsite and rest before heading to the viewpoint for sunset. After we return to the campsite, we have dinner together.
17.00: Sunset hike
19.00: Dinner time then we rest (complimentary 3/4)
Day 3: Sunday 15th November
5.10: Sunrise hike then return to the campsite
7.00-7.30: Breakfast Time (complimentary 4/4) Then tidy up the tent and get ready to hike back
8.00: Start to hike back 9km (4-5 hours)
13.00: Return to the campsite. Take lunch from the national park canteen & Shower
14.00: If we make it before 2PM to start hiking, we can also visit the natural hiking trail to the caves peak (5km round trip). After 2pm, we can only visit the lower cave area.
16.00: Drive back to Bangkok, (we stop for dinner and have gas station break during our way back home)
20.00: Back to Bangkok. End the trip 🙂
