There are 2 things we do when we visit Sukhothai. First is to visit Sukhothai Historical Park and see the beautiful ruins in the romantic atmosphere. The other thing we do is to hike Khao Luang Sukhothai trail. We think of this trail as the primary teachers that groom us into the world of hiking. After this hike, you are likely to learn a few things about hiking, and find out the part of the leg muscle you never knew existed. 

On the 19th Nov is the full moon Loy Krathong festival. It is the biggest festival in Sukhothai. As we tend to think, the festival first originated in Sukhothai kingdom. The festival and event is set in the old city of Sukhothai, where the staff dress in traditional dress, sell food and souvenirs. 

Loy Krathong is not only a festival we give thanks to the gods of the river. It’s also a Valentine’s festival for Thai people, as we believe once you go Loy Krathong in a couple, the relationship will last forever. 

This trip is going to bring you the best of both worlds. Either you like to see a beautiful culture and learn about the history, or hike one of the most popular peaks in Thailand.

Day 1:

6.45-6.55: Check in for the trip at the Caltex Gas Station near Ari BTS Station

7.00: Van leaves from the gas station

11.00: We get to Khao Nor in Nakhon Sawan Province. Have a lunch box before we start our hike. After the hike, we head to Sukhothai province.

16.00:  Arrive to Sukhothai province, check in to the hotel, we get a quick refreshment then, we leave to Historical Park to attend Loy Krathong & Candle Festival

20.30: Firework is set and end of the festival (We do not have to stay until the firework)

Day 2: 

05.00: Leave early in the morning for Sukhothai National Park

07.00 – 08.00: Get ready for the hike

• Get some coffee, breakfast, and refreshment
• Make a registration, get your bag, water, and personal stuff ready.
• You can hire the porter service for 100฿/KG (RoundTrip).
• The porter will not go together with our group, please take your personal stuff with you for ready to use (rain jacket, drinking water, medication, energy drink, snack, lunch, etc)
• Our campsite/ destination is at 1,200 meters above sea level, the trail is around 3.7km long, most of the trail is incline & steps.
• The trail is well marked and well taken care of. Take us around 4-5 hours to reach the campsite

13.00: Reach the campsite, lunch & set up our tent

14.00 we take a 4.4 km loop hiking near the campsite to visit the other peaks

17.00: Dinner time, If it’s visible we are going to walk to sunset point to see the sunset.

18.00-23.00:  Dinner and enjoy the rest of the night

Day 3: Sunday 18th

7.00-7.30: Breakfast

8.00: Start to hike back to the same trail we came up.

12.00: Reach the national park parking lot where we left, get our clearn clothes from the van, shower and lunch

13.00: Drive back to Bangkok, (we stop for dinner and have a break during our way back)

21.00: Back to Bangkok. End the trip
