Overview
Experience one of Southeast Asia’s most spectacular trekking adventures on this 4 Days 3 Nights Mount Rinjani expedition. Starting from Sembalun and descending through Senaru, this route takes you across volcanic landscapes, stunning ridgelines, and lush forests while reaching the 3,726-meter summit of Mount Rinjani. Camp beneath the stars, watch unforgettable sunrises above the clouds, relax by the crater lake, and challenge yourself on an unforgettable journey through Indonesia’s second-highest volcano. Perfect for adventurous hikers seeking breathtaking scenery and a rewarding mountain experience.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Tuesday 20th October 2026
- Travel Day: Traveling from Bangkok to Lombok, Pickup at the airport and transfer to the accommodation near Mt. Rinjani. Get yourself ready for the hike
Day 2 – Wednesday 21st October 2026
Hiking Day 1: Sembalun to Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 m)
Breakfast at the hotel before transferring to the trek starting point.
Begin trekking through Posts 1, 2, and 3 with breaks and lunch along the way.
Hike across the beautiful Sembalun savanna and highland grasslands.
Reach Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 m) in the late afternoon.
Enjoy spectacular sunset views over Segara Anak Lake, Mount Baru Jari, and a stunning sea of clouds.
Dinner and overnight camping at the crater rim.
Day 3 – Thursday 22nd October 2026
Hiking Day 2: Summit (3,726 m) & Segara Anak Lake
Early morning summit push (starts around 2:30 AM).
Reach the 3,726 m summit of Mount Rinjani in time for sunrise.
Enjoy panoramic views of Lombok, Bali, Sumbawa, and Segara Anak Lake.
Descend back to the crater rim for breakfast.
Continue down to Segara Anak Lake (2,008 m).
Relax at the natural hot springs, ideal for soothing tired muscles after the climb.
Dinner and overnight camping by the lakeside.
Day 4 – Friday 23rd October 2026
Hiking Day 3: Segara Anak Lake to Senaru Crater Rim
Wake up to the peaceful scenery of Segara Anak Lake.
Enjoy breakfast and free time to revisit the hot springs.
After lunch, begin the ascent toward Senaru Crater Rim.
Trek through scenic hills and shaded pine forests with opportunities to spot local birdlife.
Dinner and overnight camping at Senaru Crater Rim.
Day 5 – Saturday 24th October 2026
Hiking Day 4 Senaru Crater Rim to Senaru Village
Enjoy sunrise and breakfast overlooking Mount Rinjani, Segara Anak Lake, the Three Gilis, and Mount Agung in Bali.
Descend through tropical rainforest to Senaru Village (approximately 5 hours).
Lunch at Post 2 during the descent.
Transfer back to the hotel before continuing to your next destination (Mataram, Senggigi, or Bangsal Port).
Stay at the hotel near Lombok Airport
Day 6 – Sunday 25th October 2026
Travel Back to Bangkok
Am I Ready to Hike Mount Rinjani?
- Complete beginners: If you have little to no hiking or exercise experience, we recommend at least 2 months of training before attempting Mount Rinjani.
- This package include guideline and 10 weeks- group training program
- Active individuals: If you already exercise regularly or have some hiking experience, 1 month of focused training is generally recommended to prepare for the summit.
- Need help preparing? Bangkok Hiking offers a structured training program designed to help beginner and intermediate hikers build the strength, endurance, and confidence needed to successfully reach the 3,726 m summit of Mount Rinjani.
